My project was to digitize 50 years of family slides so every family member could get a copy. The cost for having this done professionally would have been prohibitive as I have over 1500 slides. I was also worried about having to package and ship out our "family memories". I decided on this scanner since it features the ability to scan 16 slides at once. The quality of the scans was more than adequate for my needs (showing the slides on a digital frame). My only complaint was that the software sometimes could not sense the exact field of view of the slide and I had to resize the scanning field in edit mode between pre-scanning and accepting the scan. That was a little time consuming. Overall I was extremely satisfied.

If you have lots of slides or photos that need to be converted into digits, this scanner will do nicely. The results, color, resolution, accuracy and clarity are very good.. Even old Poloroids converted into a decent JPEG.
The scanner uses two light sources for slide scanning with the results being very good.
All this good conversion comes at a cost. You can scan up to 16 35mm slides at a time, but times average 2.5 minute per slide.
Photos come off much better. You can scan up to four photos (4x6) at a time with an average of 30 seconds per photo.
One other really neat thing that this scanner can do is scan any document and output the document as a PDF file. Very nice for archiving user manuals, warrantries, sales receipts or anything else that you keep disorganized in a desk drawer.

I have created a Power Point program on "China Today" that has been presented at the local University of Texas. Many of the slides have been scanned into the well-received lecture. I couldn't have done without it!
