I purchased this battery because I don't even want to be in a position of not having a charge for my camera; I bought it as a back-up battery, but instead am using it as my primary battery. It holds a charge longer, and charges faster, than the battery that came with the camera (which wasn't cheap!). It is also less expensive than the camera's brand battery.
