The GPSMAP 60CSx Portable Navigator is one of most popular models for outdoor and marine use. It contains a removable microSD card for detailed mapping memory and a waterproof, rugged housing. The microSD card slot is located inside the waterproof battery compartment. It features a new, highly sensitive GPS receiver that acquires satellites faster and lets users track their location in challenging conditions, such as heavy foliage or deep canyons. Owners of new x-series handhelds can also purchase new microSD cards that are pre-loaded with MapSource Topo and inland lake maps, BlueChart marine cartography, and City Navigator street maps.

    I had a Magellan eXplorist and had lots of problems, including customer service. I decided to get the Garmin 60csx and have never had a problem since. It is very reliable and rugged. I have considered buying a second one, just in case ( I love it that much!). I tend to use it weekly, especially since I have been hunting in the backcountry a lot more this year. The only thing I have a problem with is that I use a Mac and Garmin software only works with Pc computers.

    This unit is simple to use and serves as a great backup; even for those who are already good with directions. I have never lost reception; and the addition of a "state specific" topo card makes this the ultimate hunting companion.

    This is my first GPS receiver. It's easy to start using with the basic setup but there are plenty of features to explore and put to use after using the unit for a while. The base map is adequate but I'm looking to add the topo maps very soon for more detail.

    Mainly bought for Geocaching...with added maps loaded to unit ..its almost to easy..also use to find just about anything in whatever area you are in just push find button ..its there! Its a little harder to read screen at night but not impossible..Can't go wrong get one!!
