I have been very pleased with my ultra-compact digital cameras in the past, but I always wished I had more zoom, especially when traveling. I did a LOT of research, and this is the very best camera you can buy in compact form with a 10x optical zoom, and a Leica wide angle lens.

I use this camera for everyday photography. This camera has a great zoom and thus it makes a perfect travel camera for me. It has some small defects as noise at base ISO, bad audio quality in HD Video recording mode, less battery backup. But overall it is the only 10x optical zoom camera in such a small form factor, with decent image clarity and fine detail.
